I have recently finished my first year at University, studying Sociology and Education, and suffer from a feeling of pride and regret at this achievement. An illness which has affected my ability to attend lectures most of the year leaves me a little lonely, and I’ve found that reading books helps me to escape into different realities which are more satisfying than my own.
Having this illness, I hope I can find others like myself struggling to accept and live with it. I decided to start this blog after failing to find someone else’s account on how they managed to pick themselves up and live knowing there’s was something that could always be there, affecting life choices (although I’m sure someone has already done it).
I have now left my course and have started my second year through the Open University studying Combined Social Studies (Sociology). Hopefully this will allow me complete a degree and regain my health at home, in comfort.
Anyway, I enjoy craft, reading, films and have recently acquired a slight obsession with ‘Murder, She Wrote’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’. I also enjoy tennis, both table and regular and find the wii fit the perfect way of doing gentle exercise in the front room without having to change or plan a jogging route.
