About Me

I have recently finished my first year at University, studying Sociology and Education, and suffer from a feeling of pride and regret at this achievement. An illness which has affected my ability to attend lectures most of the year leaves me a little lonely, and I’ve found that reading books helps me to escape into different realities which are more satisfying than my own.

Having this illness, I hope I can find others like myself struggling to accept and live with it. I decided to start this blog after failing to find someone else’s account on how they managed to pick themselves up and live knowing there’s was something that could always be there, affecting life choices (although I’m sure someone has already done it).

I have now left my course and have started my second year through the Open University studying Combined Social Studies (Sociology). Hopefully this will allow me complete a degree and regain my health at home, in comfort.

Anyway, I enjoy craft, reading, films and have recently acquired a slight obsession with ‘Murder, She Wrote’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’. I also enjoy tennis, both table and regular and find the wii fit the perfect way of doing gentle exercise in the front room without having to change or plan a jogging route.

  1. Hey!
After reading some of your posts I must say I really like your blog. It’s wonderful to see that your posts are taken from the life that surrounds you and nothing far-fetched. Consequently, I decided to follow you blog. Good luck with your uni stuff and keep up the good work 🙂

      • Hey,

  2. Your blog looks professional and well written (with no curse words). This fits into my blogroll requirement on my home page, where I promote other blogs. I am putting a link to your blog on my home page. I enjoy your articles. They are articulated nicely.

    Best Regards,

    Liz

  3. A few questions for my blogroll:
    You live in UK correct?
What would you prefer your name to appear as on my blogroll?
What would you say your blog is about? I have to put a description of your blog in the blogroll.

  4. In the fall I’ll be blogging regularly on sociology and problems with textbooks. Having taught the subject for over 30 years I have a few opinions about textbooks, their strengths and shortcomings. I welcome any questions from soc students who may need to discuss concepts, theorists, big or little ideas.
    Keep up the blog.

  5. Hi–I recently discovered “The Big Bang Theory” as well and have become a huge fan. Good luck in your studies!

Thank you for your comment. I shall endeavour to visit and comment on your blog :D
